Fundraising

Purdy’s chocolates is the Snow Valley Skating Club primary fundraiser, with raffle tickets as the club secondary fundraiser. These efforts help keep program fees affordable for all participants and ensure our skaters continue to have access to quality resources and opportunities.

Recreation Programs Fundraising Obligations (per child):

  • PreCanskate: Sell at least $75 of Purdy’s per session or opt to pay out $50 per set.
  • Canskate: Sell at least $75 of Purdy’s per session or opt to pay out $50 per set.

Note: Set 2 of PreCanskate and Canskate will have an option to sell Easter Purdy’s Chocolate or sell 1 book of 10 raffle tickets worth $100. Session 3 of Recreation Programs does not have a fundraising requirement.

PreStar and StarSkate Fundraising Obligations (per child):

  • PreStar: Sell at least $150 of Purdy’s per year or opt to payout $100 per year AND sell 1 book of 20 raffle tickets for $200 or opt to pay out $200 for the raffle tickets.
  • StarSkate: Sell at least $250 of Purdy’s per year or opt to pay out $200 per year AND sell 1 book of 20 raffle tickets for $200 or opt to pay out $200 for the raffle tickets.

Each additional book sold by the skaters will have 50% to the club and 50% to that skater’s special fundraising account. Please reference the Special Fundraising Policy in Section 2: Fundraising of the Snow Valley Skating Club Policies & Procedures.

Please note that there is a $350 maximum Purdy’s fundraising obligation per family for star skaters or the option to buy out Purdy’s fundraising $300 per year. Each star skater is required to sell 1 book of 20 raffle tickets for $200 or opt to pay out $200 for the raffle tickets.

Important Note: Revenue from our Purdy’s fundraiser and raffle ticket sales is essential to keeping fees as low as possible for all programs, including the one your child participates in. If fundraising requirements have not been met by the End of the Year Gala, the fundraising pay out will be added to your skater’s Uplifter Account. If not paid within 2 weeks (14 days), the fundraising payout amount will be paid out from any PA Credits and Special Fundraising Credits that your skater may have. Your participation directly supports the entire club and helps us continue offering high-quality skating programs for all skaters.
